Go Blazers?

Here is something I don't understand, how does a town like Portland (all of Oregon really) get so down on the blazers? I mean, they had 22 playoff seasons in a row, and in about 1-2 years, people are so completely out of touch that they don't even realize how awesome this team is, and will be. What happened to the love? Yes, they had a stretch where the players and fans had a disconnect, but as soon as those are gone why does it persist? Do people not know that sports are like this all over the country? There are bad apples in any basket, we had a couple extra and tossed them.

Maybe I am seeing this differently because I am such a big fan, but it doesn't make rational sense. This is the only pro franchise the state has, and if you haven't been reading papers then you should know that sports franchises are holding their cities ransom for stadiums, and other perks, while the blazers do not. Paul Allen paid for the stadium, can you name another team that has an owner that has done that recently? ok, so they had some bad personnel, but why abandon them when they have given you so many years of excellence? I am getting too pushy here and not to the point...

All I am saying, is watch some games, listen to the games on the radio, pay attention, get back into it fans. I remember days when this team brought a city and state together. We all hung up "BEAT LA" signs in our windows, and sang "Bust a bucket".. Those were the days, and I know they can't come back, but the fans can and should.

So as I wrap this up I probably should have mentioned they are 3-3 and had a great win on Wednesday night at home to take the NW division lead. It made me sad to see the stands so empty, because they are really great to watch, and great for this city. GO BLAZERS!

StumbleUpon

So here is my first, and probably not last, rant on stumbling.. it is the greatest innovation the web has seen since Netscape Navigator. You can easily send links between friends..

well let me start by just explaining the concept. When you stumble, you just click a button and you get a site, either sent by a friend or by the community. First you get a toolbar (not required, but recommended) and you click the stumble button. The sites that you stumble upon are chosen by your preferred categories. You might wonder, what do they get out of it? well.. they do put a few sponsored stumbles in the mix, but again, they are only ones within your chosen categories, so its really not bad.. and best of all, you can just stumble right past them with one click!

So back to why I like it, you can share to friends with one click, even non-members by email, along with being able to save links very quickly by giving your thumbs up to a page (again, one click). If you browse the web like I do, you want a way to get sites without thinking, but with content... and the StumbleUpon community delivers, I have yet to get a bad site, or anything not worth my time. You can do as much, or as little with it as you want, and another really nice thing is you don't have to give out any information besides email (no spam of course) so it takes less than 5 seconds to start using it. Of course, you can check out my stumble page if you are curious.

I Strongly recommend becoming a member and using the toolbar, its just so easy, and is great for spontaneous browsing, its so easy even my mom uses it!
Have a nice stumble @ StumbleUpon

P.S. if you do join, add me as a friend and we can share links.

Kwans

Hey for all you people living in Salem, here is the kwans menu.. heh... in case you are too lazy to pick one up yourself (it took quite a bit of guessing to get this off their site)
Kwans Menu
Enjoy!

Edit: after several questions, I want to answer them here.. Kwans is a pretty good chinese restaurant in Salem. They have good reviews every year. I go there for lunch sometimes, I have cravings for Asian food often.

Hello

Hello, this is the first entry to my little blog... what I hope to get out of this is to share some of my thoughts I would not other wise blab (which is how I talk) to you or maybe not say to anyone.

I did have a thought for my initial entry, but between work and dinner it has been forgotten, other than I do appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this and maybe bookmarks (or subscribes to the RSS feed), because I hope to share some fun & interesting information here.. I do find that there are many times my memory fails me for things I have said in the past. I guess now that I think about it, sometimes that could be a good thing, but normally its good to write things down, even if you don't think they are important at the time..

So as anyone who knows me knows that I have opinions (can I understate that any more?) and so I hope not to offend, or irritate, but I think its inevitable. If you know me (and stick around), you know this is true, but its also why you love me.
alas.. my time has run short and I must get some reading done before I log into my favorite game... AO (Anarchy Online for those not in the know) it has consumed much of my time as of late, and I can't quite say why, maybe because its free... um yeah, thats the reason I'll use.

Catch you readers (all 4 of you) later ;)
